Our Speakers:

Thomas J. Pauloski is a National Managing Director of Wealth Strategies; he works with private clients and their advisors on wealth transfer strategies, focusing on tax-efficient wealth management and asset allocation decisions. Tom was appointed a National Managing Director in 2009. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, he was a partner in the trusts and estates department at Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago. Tom is on the faculty of the American Bankers Association National Trust and National Graduate Trust schools; he has also been an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and has taught estate planning classes at Northwestern University Law School. Tom earned a BS in environmental engineering from Northwestern University and a JD, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Loyola Law Journal. He retired as a commander from the US Naval Reserve in 2003, with 21 years of combined active duty and reserve service.  

 

Ashley E. Velategui is a National Director of Planning Research in Bernstein’s Investment and Wealth Strategies Group and is based in the firm’s Seattle office.

She works closely with high net worth families and individuals and their professional advisors on a variety of complex investment planning issues, including pre transaction planning, multigenerational wealth transfer, philanthropy, diversification planning for holders of concentrated p ort folios, and special needs planning.

Ashley joined the firm in 2007 and began working with the Investment and Wealth Strategies Group in 2011, serving as an analyst and senior analyst before becoming an Associate Director in 2014. She earned a BA, magna cum laude, in mathematics and economics from Whitman College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.

 

Tyler Gatherum is a vice president at Bernstein Private Wealth Management based in the firm's Salt Lake City office. Tyler's practice focus is pre-transaction planning for M&A events. He works closely with founders and entrepreneurs through crucial milestones, leveraging Bernstein's analytical resources to advise on capital forecasting, tax and estate structures, and tailored investment solutions across public and private markets. Tyler holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Utah and an MBA from Brigham Young University. He is also a Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
